Claude on a schedule, for any recurring task, with every run on record.
Paperclip (w/ CloudCLI) is a Railway template by AvgSoft. One deploy gives you two apps on one server, behind one login:
Paperclip runs your scheduled jobs and keeps every run.
CloudCLI gives you Claude Code in any browser or phone, with Codex, git and the GitHub CLI.
You connect a GitHub repo you can push to, then tell Claude in plain words what should happen and when. Claude writes the job’s instructions into that repo, schedules the job in Paperclip and tests it once. From then on, Paperclip runs it on time.
The repo can be unrelated to the jobs, or one you make just for them. Claude uses your own Claude account (Pro or Max), signed in through Claude Code’s official sign-in, and the token stays on your server.
Many AI agents keep what you set up in their own memory, on their own server. Here, what a job does and when it runs are files in your GitHub repo. Paperclip runs them, and Claude does the work.
Yours to keep
A job’s instructions are a skill file, and its schedule an entry in .claude/jobs.json, both in your repo. Stop
using this template and your jobs stay: plain text that another scheduler or agent can run. One command recreates
them on a new server.
Traceable
Every change to a job, what it does or when it runs, is a commit you can review or revert.
Auditable
Every run is on record in Paperclip: status, result, full transcript, model and tokens.
Predictable
Only scheduled jobs run, one task per run. The Runner does what the skill says, closes the task and stops, or marks
it blocked with the reason instead of guessing.
Easy to start
An email and a password to deploy, a page to connect Claude and GitHub, then as many repos and jobs as you need.
Open
Open-source apps on your server, and this template’s code in a public repo.
In the chat, Claude asks before anything beyond file edits and basic git and GitHub commands. The reference lists what is approved in advance.
Paperclip is a platform for running AI agents. This template sets it up for one purpose, scheduled jobs run by Claude Code, and adds what that needs:
You need
What the template does
An admin account
Created at the first start from the email and password on the deploy form. The same login opens CloudCLI.
A company, a project and an agent
Creates the company “Jobs”, one project per repo, and the Runner agent, which runs jobs with Claude Code.
Claude signed in for the agent
The setup page runs Claude Code’s own claude setup-token and gives the token to the Runner, with no redeploy.
GitHub access
The setup page signs the GitHub CLI in with a one-time code, for both apps and every run.
A job
You ask Claude in CloudCLI. It writes the skill, creates the job through Paperclip’s API and tests it.
Safe defaults
Jobs never overlap and never pile up after downtime, and each run closes its own task. See No overlap, no backlog.
A record outside the database
Every job is recorded in its repo’s .claude/jobs.json, committed and pushed at every change.
Updates
Template fixes arrive as Railway update notices that you apply when you choose. See Updates.
Paperclip’s dashboard stays fully available. You can follow every job and run there, and edit jobs there too; Claude records those edits in git the next time it looks at your jobs.
A job that needs a key gets it from the Runner’s environment variables in Paperclip, on its Harness / Runtime page. See Secrets.
CloudCLI is also a full Claude Code in your browser. You can work on your repo with Claude there, from any computer or your phone, as with Claude Code anywhere.
How it worksThe services, the Runner agent, one project per repo, and what a job is.
